As both superintendent and a proud parent in our community, it is an honor to serve the students, families, and staff of Eden Prairie Schools each day. Understanding Our Roles: Supporting You Effectively
At Eden Prairie Schools, we use John Carver’s Policy Governance model, a framework designed to clarify roles and ensure effective leadership. As Superintendent, I serve as the district’s Chief Executive Officer, responsible for the daily operations and management of our schools. I am also an ex officio member of our school board, providing regular updates and insights.
Our Board of Education governs by setting overarching goals and policies but does not directly handle day-to-day management concerns or individual issues. For timely and effective resolution, please direct any management-related concerns or questions to me or the appropriate member of our administrative team.
We deeply value your partnership and appreciate your understanding of our governance structure, which helps us better serve the needs of our students and community.
Addressing Your Concerns and Questions
At Eden Prairie Schools, your concerns, questions, and feedback matter deeply to us. We believe the best resolutions occur closest to the source of the issue, where staff are most familiar with your child’s experiences and needs. To ensure timely and effective responses, we encourage you to follow these steps:
- Start with the Closest Connection:
- For academic or classroom issues, please first contact your child’s teacher.
- For social-emotional support or personal concerns, reach out to a counselor or social worker.
- School Leadership:
- If further assistance is needed, the next step is to contact your school’s Associate Principal or Principal.
- District Support:
- Should your concern remain unresolved, district directors or members of our cabinet team are available to provide additional assistance and insight.
