Is an Early Childhood Screening required?
All students in Minnesota must complete an Early Childhood Screening, ideally as they turn 3 years old. This is a FREE and simple check of how your child is growing and developing.
Screening between ages 3-5 is important to evaluate all areas of development including hearing, vision, speech, and motor abilities. The screening process looks at a number of things including the following:
- Preschool concepts
- Communication skills
- Motor skills
- Social skills
Screenings take about an hour to complete and are held at the Eden Prairie Schools Welcome Center (Door 1A) in the Administrative Building at 8100 School Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55344.
