Can I attend a school other than my boundary school?
We encourage families to attend their neighborhood school for PreK, since that best prepares your child for kindergarten! Busing is not provided if a family attends a school that is not their neighborhood school.
Families who choose to enroll their child for Nature-Based PreK are responsible for providing transportation for their child, unless they reside in the Cedar Ridge boundary. Please note: If you want to have your child attend a different school than their neighborhood school for PreK, approval may be required and it does not mean your child will be approved to attend kindergarten at that school. Kindergarten enrollments in non-neighborhood schools are approved on a case-by-case basis.
If a student attends a school that is not their boundary school for 4-year-old preschool, they will not be automatically enrolled at that school for kindergarten; a parent/guardian will need to follow the district transfer protocol if they wish for their student to remain at the school.
Non-Eden Prairie residents choosing to open enroll with Little Eagles Preschool will be third priority and placed on a waitlist at their chosen school and enrolled on a first come, first served basis.
Note: Attending Oak Point Elementary School for preschool does not increase chances of attending Eagle Heights Spanish Immersion. Little Eagles Preschool is a Community Education Program and does not impact the lottery process.
