4th and 5th Grade Math Masters Competition

On Saturday, April 23, four teams of fourth and fifth grade students represented Prairie View Elementary in the inaugural Math Masters Competition. Math Masters is a statewide competition but this is the first year they offered a 4th grade competition. The following teams competed:

  • Prairie View Team Red (fourth grade): Hayden Schiller, Hannah Brandt, Becca Iselin, Gavin Koepp, and Reyansh Sardeshmukh
  • Prairie View Team Black (fourth grade): Aaron Clark, Trent Richards, Jack Dolan, Sam Strehl, and Kritigya Jain
  • Prairie View Team Red (fifth grade): Michael Gomelsky, Om Gautam, Claire Pavelka, Bella Sanchez, Eliot Thoma
  • Prairie View Team Black (fifth grade): George Wieland, Lakshmi Satuluri, Evan Cook, Sarayu Kacham, Tae DiFrank

For the fourth grade team, Hannah Brandt tied for 9th, Jack Dolan placed third and Aaron Clark placed second. The Prairie View Team Black took first in the team competition!

For the fifth grade team, Om Gautam took 14th place, Michael Gomelsky and Lakshmi Satuluri both took 9th place, Bella Sanchez took 11th place, Eliot Thomas took fifth place and George Wieland took first place. The Prairie View Team Red finished third place, and the Prairie View Team Black finished second place.
