Nearly 300 EPHS scholars named National Merit Semifinalists and AP Scholars

Once again, Eagles earned some of the nation's best standardized test scores this year! 

Fourteen EPHS scholars earn National Merit Semifinalist distinction

Congratulations to the 14 EPHS scholars that were named National Merit Semifinalists late last month! The students who earned this recognition are Maanav V. Basnet, Srijani Datta, Amelia E. Dewberry, Avik Garg, Aniketh Hanagavadi, Adhiraiyan Kartheesan, Hinano E. Kazama, Aditya M. Kshirsagar, Shruthi R. Kundoor, Suchita Sah, Madison E. Lin, Erik R. Lundeen, Darren S. Tanubrata, and Vivian Wang.

These 12th graders are among the highest-scoring participants in Minnesota and have an opportunity to advance in the scholarship competition and be considered for Merit Scholarships totaling more than $34 million. 

Another 13 scholars were designated National Merit Commended Students and are among the 5% of all students who took the test. We’re proud of you, Eagles!

284 EPHS students are named AP Scholars, Scholars with Honor, or Scholars with Distinction

More Eagles than ever are participating in advanced coursework, and many are being nationally recognized for excellence on Advanced Placement exams. The College Board honored more than 280 of our students with AP Scholar recognition!

  • 99 EPHS AP Scholars with Distinction: An honor granted by the College Board to students in the United States who receive an average grade of at least 3.5 on all Advanced Placement Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
  • 65 EPHS AP Scholars with Honor: An honor granted by the College Board to students in the United States who receive an average grade of at least 3.25 on all Advanced Placement Exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
  • 120 EPHS AP Scholars: An honor granted by the College Board to students in the United States who receive grades of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.
