Gifted & Talented

Gifted Services help gifted students thrive by offering challenging educational experiences and supporting classroom teachers with resources to differentiate the curriculum. Every school site uses the Levels of Service model.

Parents or teachers may recommend a child for these services. When this occurs, students are assessed using multiple criteria. A district team then reviews and evaluates the data to determine whether this child will benefit from inclusion in the program. In addition to Levels of Services, enrichment occurs within the classroom through teacher differentiation of curriculum and instruction. The district also has an acceleration policy for core subjects in those rare instances where subject or grade acceleration best meets the students’ educational needs.
