Thanks to you, we can ensure financial stability and academic excellence for the next five years.

These levies will help us to continue to give each student 1:1 attention by keeping class sizes small, maintaining our program offerings year over year, and attracting and retaining the area’s very best teachers and staff to inspire our students.

What's on the ballot?

The Eden Prairie School Board has voted to ask residents to consider the following ballot questions:

Question 1

would revoke the current operating levy of $1,815.27 per student and replace it with a levy of $2,075.27 per student.

The tax impact of the approval of question #1 would be less than $8 per month in property taxes for a home in Eden Prairie valued at $430,000.

Question 2

would renew the previously-approved capital project levy, which provides technology infrastructure including student devices, classroom technologies, and teacher training across the district.

Approval of the capital project levy would not result in an increase in property taxes.

Approval of these ballot questions would allow the district to maintain stability and provide continued excellence with an increased operating levy and continuation of the capital projects levy, both which provide a number of benefits to our students.

What's the plan? Be Prepared. Maintain Stability.

The main goals of the Eden Prairie Schools referendum ballot proposals are to maintain financial stability and continue to offer excellent academic programs to students. Current operating and capital project levies are nearing expiration, and the district is asking the community to reinvest in these levies to allow for continued funding with minimal impact on taxpayers.

Why now? Avoid Reductions. Continue Excellence.

Both levies are set to expire after the 2024-25 school year. Proposing these initiatives now provides the district with opportunities to engage the community and plan for our future. By securing these funds now, the district will be able to further extend a 2014 promise to avoid reductions to programs and services for at least another five years.
