Student Spotlight: Alice Lee receives gold medal at Chess World Championship
Alice Lee, youngest American female to become an International Master, competed at the 2023 FIDE Women's World Team Championship on Monday, September 11 in Bydgoszcz, Poland. She remained undefeated in all six of her rapid games during the knockout stage and showcased her skills with three victories while only giving up a single loss in the group stages. As a testament to her exceptional performance, she rightfully earned the individual gold medal on the top board. The US Women's team had their best finish in this tournament, securing an impressive 4th place, defeating chess strongholds like China and Ukraine!
