The Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) measures verbal reasoning, critical reading, math problem solving, and writing skills.

Typically, college-bound students take this test in their junior year. The PSAT/NMSQT is the entryway to the National Merit Scholarship Program. The scholarship competition is only available to students who are Juniors. Sophomores can choose to take the PSAT 10. PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 are not required exams for college admission.

The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered to Juniors on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 and PSAT 10 to Sophomores on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 in the Main Gym at Eden Prairie High School. This exam will be held on a regular school day. Students will miss their morning classes. Eden Prairie Schools pays for PSAT 10 and PSAT/NMSWQT exam fees.

Students with a 504 or IEP who would like to request accommodations for the exam must do so by September 5 at 4 p.m. Accommodations can be requested on the sign up form. You will be emailed with additional steps.
