Eden Prairie Schools provides services to meet the individualized needs of each student with disabilities. Services are provided to students from birth through 12th grade, with a transition program provided for 18-21 year olds for whom that is appropriate.
All services are developed to support each student to access learning that meets their academic and social emotional needs in general education and special education settings. From early childhood to graduation, students are provided a quality, individualized education program in the least restrictive environment.
Each school in the system has a special education team that provides services to students with disabilities. A lead teacher is available at each school to assist students and families in the Special Education Program. Special education team members work in conjunction with a student's general education teachers and with school and district administration to ensure that students are learning and growing through their educational experiences.
