Courses & Registration

At the middle school level, full-time students are required to take 4 classes per term. Each year, students must take one class within each of the following areas: English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education & Health. Students will also take two Fine Arts classes (Media Arts and choice between Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, or Visual Art). Finally, students will study an elective area each school year, including Technology (6th Grade), Business (7th Grade), and World Language (8th Grade). In many courses, students have the option to contract for Honors credit by engaging in additional enrichment studies and more rigorous assessments of learning.

At the high school level, full-time students are required to take either 4 classes per term (9th or 10th graders) or 3 classes per term (11th or 12th graders). Students must earn 54 credits to graduate high school in Eden Prairie Schools, including the specific required courses listed below. In many courses, students have the option to contract for Honors credit by engaging in additional enrichment studies and more rigorous assessments of learning. Additionally, Eden Prairie Online offers over twenty college-level Advanced Placement courses, many of which can be used to alternatively fulfill graduation requirements. Eden Prairie Online upperclassmen may also be eligible to participate in the state of Minnesota's PSEO (Postsecondary Enrollment Options) program and earn tuition-free college credit while in high school.
