Eden Prairie Schools has named Dr. Robb Virgin as the Executive Director of Personalized Learning. Virgin has served as the principal of Eden Prairie High School since 2018.
“We are excited about the leadership Dr. Virgin will bring to this role,” said Dr. Josh Swanson, Superintendent. “He has been instrumental in the implementation of Designing Pathways, expanding opportunities and enrollment in rigorous coursework, implementing innovation processes that have led to system improvements, and increasing graduation rates. The experiences, skills, and knowledge he will bring to the role will help us move toward achieving our mission.”
Virgin taught social studies for Eau Claire Area Schools in Wisconsin and Farmington Area Schools, while taking on several leadership roles. He supported teachers entering the classroom while working as a graduate-level instructor at the University of Minnesota and served as an assistant principal in Minnetonka before coming to Eden Prairie Schools.
Dr. Virgin completed his Master’s degree, administrative licensure and Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction at the University of Minnesota. He has written and published articles and book chapters related to effective instructional practices, school innovation, and change management.
Eden Prairie Schools will immediately start the search process for the next principal of Eden Prairie High School. That will include the collection of input from staff, families and students on the qualities they would like to see in the next EPHS principal. Dr. Virgin will begin in his new position on July 1, 2022.
