This new procedure will be different for many of you but in the long run will streamline our procedures and make it easier to meet the needs for everyone involved.

Academic Activity Offerings:
Math League/Math Counts (Season: September 24 - January TBD): $30A typical CMS mathlete is a 7th or 8th grade student who excels in math, desires an extra challenge and enjoys competition. During the regular season, mathletes compete against teams at the regional level and 300 teams statewide. These meets are held each month on Mondays. The season begins in September and ends with the students competing for awards in the regional, state, and national Mathcounts competitions in February. The first math meeting will be on Monday, September 24. The club meets right after school on Mondays in room 418. Complete the Math League/Math Counts Application.Girls Coding Club (Season: September 18 - October 30): $20What is coding? Coding is what makes it possible for us to create computer software, apps and websites. Your browser, your OS, the apps on your phone, and websites- they are all made with code. Coding, in the simplest of terms, is telling a computer what you want it to do, which involves typing in step-by-step commands for the computer to follow. Learn to deepen your problem solving and critical thinking skills and learn about a new way to solve puzzles. This coding club is for beginning coders, who want to learn some basics and have some fun! Days/Time: Tuesdays. Online registration is open.
Board Games Club (Season: Quarters 2 and 3): $20This club is open to all interested in various board games. Chess, Oregon Trail and Munchkin Deluxe are some of the favorite games they have played in the past. Days/Time: TBD. Complete the Board Games Club Application.Speech Team (Season: November 13 - January 29): $20Students can perform for a small group of people with selections of your choice by competing against other schools in a variety of different speech categories. If you’re into speaking, or would like to become better at speaking, this is the club for you. Days/Time: Tues/Thurs, plus tournaments after school. There will be an informational meeting for students after school on Tuesday, November 13th. Complete the Speech Team Application.
