EPHS National Merit, AP Scholars Announced

Eden Prairie High School has 16 National Merit Semifinalists, 26 National Merit Commended Students, one National Hispanic Recognition Program Scholar and 360 total Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars.

The results from last year’s Preliminary Scholastic Assessment Test (PSAT) and AP tests are in. Eden Prairie students have again posted impressive academic achievements. Sixteen Eden Prairie High School students are on the 2019-2020 list of National Merit Semifinalists. They are the top one-half of one percent of all juniors nation-wide who took the PSAT last fall. 

Eden Prairie High School had 360 students listed in the AP Scholar category. These students have successfully passed three or more AP exams during their high school career. The students are listed in various scholar categories designated by the College Board. 

Results from the 2019 College Board’s AP tests show many students at EPHS are engaging and succeeding in rigorous academic programming. Seven hundred and thirty-three students took AP exams this past spring. Thirty-five percent of the class of 2019 left EPHS with at least one score of three or higher on an AP test. Eighty-two percent of the AP exams taken by EPHS students earned college credit.

The list of National Achievement Semifinalists for 2019-2020 will be announced at a later date. EPHS will honor the Scholars on Nov. 8.
