CLASS OF 2019
Dear Class of 2019, Parents, and Guardians,
Planning for graduation on Friday, June 7 at 7:00 p.m. has been underway for several months and we would like to share the following schedule of events:
Seniors’ Community Scholarship Program: The community scholarship program is May 16 in the PAC at 7:00 p.m. Invitations will be mailed home in early to mid-May to those who will be receiving a community scholarship that evening.
Caps/Gowns/Tassels and Graduation Participation Fee: Please mark your calendars! Caps, gowns and tassels will be distributed on Thursday, May 30, 7:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. and Friday, May 31, 11:15 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Career Resource Center. The graduation participation fee of $25 will be collected when seniors pick up their cap, gown and tassel. These are keepsake items and belong to the graduate as a remembrance of the evening, they are provided by the school. Please note that we do not allow decoration of any type on the cap or gown.
Book Fines/Fees: All outstanding fines and fees must be paid before picking up caps and gowns. Emails will be sent out in early May for students that have fines/fees.
Naviance/Family Connection: Seniors must complete the Graduation Survey Class of 2019 in Naviance prior to picking up their cap and gown. The survey will be available in early May and can be found under the ABOUT ME tab in Naviance
Gold/Silver/Red Cords: Cords will be distributed with caps and gowns on May 30 and 31. The list of cord recipients will be posted at the Career Resource Center by mid-May. Silver cords are awarded to seniors with a GPA of 3.75 – 3.89, gold cords are awarded for a GPA of 3.9 – 4.0, and red cords for Honor graduates who have earned 6 credits in AP, CIS, and/or most PLTW or certain PSEO classes and also have a 3.5 GPA.
Graduation Location: The ceremony is held at 3M Arena at Mariucci on the University of Minnesota campus. Seniors will begin marching in at 6:45 p.m. There will be ample seating available for families and friends, so no admission tickets are needed to attend graduation. Arena doors will open at 6:00 p.m. Wheelchair spaces are available at the arena. It is each family’s responsibility to obtain these spaces upon arrival at Mariucci. Sign Language services will be provided.
Transportation: All seniors will travel to 3M Arena at Mariucci via school district buses. Seniors should park in the EPHS north lot and walk around the building to the east side, they are not allowed to enter the school. Buses will depart from EPHS on the east side at 5:30 p.m. sharp.
Graduation Ceremony: This event is a ceremony, so we expect students and guests to act appropriately. We do not allow noisemakers, balloons, banners, or other disruptive behavior. We ask for your help and cooperation in making this ceremony a reflective and joyful event. Please remain in your seats until the end of the ceremony. Lifetouch will take photographs of each graduate and will send you information on how to view proofs and place an order.
After the ceremony: There will be approximately 20 minutes for family and friends to greet their graduates on the arena floor. This is the time for graduates to give their caps/gowns to their parents and exchange any personal belongings as needed. Buses will begin departing for the senior party after the ceremony ends. The graduates will exit 3M Arena at Mariucci through the tunnel to board the buses. Those not attending the party may either ride a bus back to EPHS or go home with family.
Senior Party: The 2019 Senior Party planning is underway! Each year right after the graduation ceremony an all night, safe, alcohol and drug-free party with food, entertainment and fun is held at EPHS for the graduates. All details about the party can be found at www.epseniorparty.org.
- Registration packets were mailed out in March or there is online registration available on the website. The registration fee is $90 per student through April 15 and then increases to $100. The deadline to register is May 31. Scholarships are available, so please contact your student’s counselor by May 1 for more information.
- Volunteers are needed to set up on June 6 and work the night of the party. Underclassmen parents work the first shift so you have time to go home after the ceremony before your shift begins.
- Donations help to provide more prizes, items for the Service Project and scholarships. There are ideas of what is needed on the website and volunteer sign up links.
Any questions about food allergies, what if I can’t stay all night or activities at the party, please email email@example.com. We want to make this a fun and accessible event for everyone!
Diplomas: Students will not receive a diploma until all graduation requirements are met. All fines must be paid as well as all books and EPHS laptop returned. If you have questions about the credit status of your son or daughter, please contact his or her counselor. Diplomas will be mailed home at the end of June.
Immunization Records: Many post-secondary institutions require a copy of your current Immunization Records. To print a copy of the Immunization Records we have on file, please access the Health Tab on the Portal by June 24, 2019.
Transcripts: Seniors, remember to request your Final Transcript in Naviance. If you plan to attend any type of post-secondary institution after high school, you will be required to provide them with a final transcript. Students are responsible for requesting their final transcript which will be sent via Naviance. Final transcripts will not be sent until the Graduation Survey Class of 2019 in Naviance has been completed.
Respectful Behavior: It is essential that graduates demonstrate their ability to treat all persons with respect. Students are expected to abide by the EPHS code of conduct at all times, including the final days of school. Please understand that students involved in disruptive or disrespectful activities will be disciplined according to EPHS student management guidelines.

Senior RefundsA senior who has a balance of $20.00 or less on their meal account may be issued a cash refund for ONE DAY ONLY, June 5th, 2019 from 10:45-1:00 PM in the ala carte area of the South Commons. If the balance is over that amount a transfer will be made to the closest sibling’s meal account. If no sibling, a check over $20.00 will then be issued to the parents by June 28th, or you may contact our office to donate remaining funds to the Angel account to help families in need for the upcoming school year.SENIORS - If you plan to eat lunch on June 5th, please purchase your lunch first and then go to the refund area (the ala carte area in South Commons) after you have eaten.As we close our fiscal year, everyone needs to receive their refunds by June 27th. If you did not pick up your cash refund of less than $20.00, you may do so through June 21st in the Child Nutrition Office from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. If it is not picked up it will be considered a donation to Eden Prairie Schools Angel Fund to benefit families in need through our meal program/no exceptions. Thank you!
Each year, parents of seniors host an all-night party at the high school immediately following the graduation ceremony. Registration packets mail March 1st and online registration is open. The cost of the party is $90 before April 15th. It then goes to $100. Anyone registered before April 15th will be entered into a drawing for a Yeti Cooler.
